Juneteenth PrayerWalk Saturday June 19th 10:00 am

Though Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on September 22, 1862, with an effective date of January 1, 1863, it had minimal immediate effect on most slaves’ day-to-day lives, particularly in Texas, which was almost entirely under Confederate control. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation DayCelebrates the day the last slaves in america were informed of thier feedom.

Omaha celebrates Juneteenth with a parade Saturday June 19th from 10:00-11:30 am, starting at 30th and Lake to 30th and Sprague.

Omaha 360 and the Empowerment network asked Pastor Bruce Williams to organize prayer along the route to pray against crime and violence and anything negative that may try to hinder the success of this event.
